Thus, anyone who affirms Allah’s oneness in Lordship and acknowledges His perfection must also submit to the reality that Allah alone deserves worship.

Allah, the Exalted, did not mention these [texts on attributes] merely to affirm His attributes of perfection but also to emphasize that He alone is worthy of worship, excluding all others. This establishes the two foundations upon which Tawhid is complete: affirming Allah’s attributes of perfection, refuting the claims of those who deny them, and asserting that He alone is deserving of worship, refuting the polytheists.[48]

The phrase "most beautiful names" derives from the term "Ahsan," meaning the best and most complete. It implies that Allah’s names and attributes are characterized by the highest degrees of absolute perfection. Allah is the Most Knowledgeable, the Most Powerful, the Most Merciful, the Most Generous, and each of His names reflects an aspect of His unmatched and absolute perfection.

This perfection necessitates exclusive worship of Allah, as everything besides Him is deficient. When we reflect on Allah’s most beautiful names, we find that they embody perfection in every aspect—whether in knowledge, power, mercy, wisdom, or any other attribute. This reality makes Allah alone deserving of worship, as He is the Absolute Perfection, untainted by any imperfection.

In contrast, anything worshiped besides Allah is inherently deficient and unworthy of devotion. Prophet Ibrāhīm (peace be upon him) provided a striking example of this when he criticized his father’s worship of idols that neither hear nor see nor benefit. Allah narrates his words: "O my father, why do you worship that which does not hear and does not see and will not benefit you at all?" [Maryam: 42]

These idols worshiped by people lack any qualities of perfection; they are lifeless objects incapable of causing harm or providing benefit. How, then, can they be worshiped? The true object of worship must possess absolute perfection, and that is Allah alone. His perfection encompasses the ability to create, manage, show mercy, possess knowledge, and all other qualities that affirm He alone is worthy of worship.

Thus, Allah’s most beautiful names and attributes are a clear indication of His absolute perfection. This perfection obligates us to direct all acts of worship solely to Him, as no other being possesses these complete and unmatched attributes. From this understanding, we realize that Tawhid Al-Uluhiyyah (the oneness of worship) arises from the acknowledgment of Allah’s absolute perfection, while anything else, being deficient, is unworthy of worship.

2. The Attribute of Perfect Life and Allah’s Right to Be Worshiped

Allah describes Himself with the attribute of perfect life in the verse: "He is the Ever-Living; there is no deity except Him, so call upon Him, being sincere to Him in religion." Thus, dedicating worship solely to Allah aligns with the natural disposition (fitrah) and serves as the means to success in both this world and the Hereafter. It is a recognition that true, eternal life belongs only to Allah, and He alone deserves all acts of devotion and worship.

3. Comprehensive Knowledge and Perfect Wisdom as Evidence for Allah’s Right to Be Worshiped

Allah says: "Indeed, your god is Allah, there is no true deity except Him. He has encompassed all things in knowledge." [Surah Taha: 98] And He also says: "There is no true deity except Him, the Exalted in Might, the Wise." [Ᾱl-‘Imrān: 18]

These verses clearly link Allah’s divinity with His all-encompassing knowledge and perfect wisdom, demonstrating that the One who possesses such attributes is most deserving of obedience and worship.

When Allah commands or forbids something, these directives stem from His comprehensive knowledge of what benefits and harms us, guiding us toward success and happiness in this world and the Hereafter. Allah knows what is best for us, both outwardly and inwardly, and thus following His guidance is the surest path to well-being and prosperity.

The verse in Surah Ᾱl-‘Imrān combines the perfection of Allah’s power (al-‘Izzah) with the perfection of His wisdom (al-Hikmah). Power implies absolute capability, while wisdom signifies placing everything in its rightful position. The One who combines these two perfections is undoubtedly most worthy of our reliance, submission, and worship.

Thus, Allah, as the All-Knowing and Most Wise, is the only One deserving of absolute obedience and worship. His commands are rooted in flawless knowledge and wisdom, offering the optimal way for a stable and fulfilling life. Unlike human legislation, which may be based on limited knowledge and partial wisdom, Allah’s law is perfect and comprehensive, ensuring true success and harmony in both worlds.

4. The Attribute of Extensive Mercy and Allah’s Right to Be Worshiped

Allah says: "And your god is one God. There is no deity except Him, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate." [Al-Baqarah: 163] This verse connects Allah’s oneness with His profound mercy, illustrating that the One whose mercy encompasses all things is most deserving of worship and devotion.

Allah’s mercy is all-encompassing, covering all His creation. The name "Ar-Rahman" signifies His mercy in this world, which extends to believers and disbelievers, the righteous and the wicked alike. Reflecting on our lives, we see Allah’s mercy manifest in countless ways. During hardships and challenges, His mercy provides hope and relief. Even in the harshest of trials, Allah’s mercy surrounds us and eases our burdens. He promises:"Indeed, with hardship comes ease." [Ash-Sharh: 6]

Allah’s mercy is not limited to material blessings but extends to spiritual and emotional gifts. Guidance to the straight path, faith, tranquility, and inner peace are all manifestations of His mercy. Allah says: "Say, ‘O My servants who have transgressed against themselves, do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.’" [Az-Zumar: 53]
